Invaluable information there.
What is it with duopolies here? ACCC are toothless tigers letting this go on. We have a higher population then ever while competition is the lowest we've seen.
I think Australian way of doing business stinks as well as the regulators.

I remember Eastwood had three hardware stores, each doing business in a different style and co existing fine. The old A.Hudson site is now a smattering of Chinese and Korean community focused businesses with the accompanying English and foreign character signage. Speaking of, this has changed the character of the the former Australian looking and feeling middle class area I grew up in, thanks to a local council that doesn't do it's job in regulation to preserve an area's traditional character. Anyway I digress.
Complete Hardware, an independent hardware business on the other side of the line with three separate shops next to each other for paint, timber and hardware has been gone about 20 years now. It was my go to for any obcure specialist item my heart desired one of, not a pack of 10' Go to the counter, tell them what you're after, they fetched it out the back for you. It sounds like I'm describing the 50s. This was the late 1990s. Just more unwanted eateries if a certain persuasion. But diversity has improved everybody's lot so the pinkos keep saying. I beg so much to differ.

So yeah thanks Tyler for showing me what I suspected.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
