Can't say I've ever heard of a half crank Ryobi getting a hone or an oversize piston.
They may be out there you never know. I find them the easiest to get going. Other brands I've found seem to have chronic problems that are too difficult to fix but are evidently not always going by this thread.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
