Yes it's interesting engineering ,I've seen a few Patents from about 1920 with opposed piston engines.
When I see the video of the Chamberlain 8 running the phrase Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em comes to mind.
The opposed piston engine has mainly been used in trains, tanks and marine use.
