I think I understand the issue.

I guess it means that a chain(s) are stretched or of incorrect length.
This is a simple system, but I thank you for the idea that the second
and third chains be adjusted before the primary one, when the second
and third chain need adjusting.

The primary chain is the most prone to wear and stretch
because it does more work.

Loosening of the landroll chain assembly can only move the sprockets
in limited orbital directions.

If these limits are exceeded, then there is a stretched or incorrect
chain length fitted. Sprockets may have worn to un-serviceable levels too.
