I am familiar with that anomaly.
This is red herring material in my view.
The North Americans were not making chassis of this type
in the 1960s. I am confident in assigning the chassis to an AUS Hurricane.
The unknown, is whether folks were importing Lauson branded engines
from Tecumseh in 1959 and 1960 [as against locally made Kirbys].
"Janson" appears a total marketing invention with no connection to
the early patented lawnmower attachment.
A bit like "Carter" of the late 1950s period.
