The later model carby and tank combinations you see on eBay, are they adaptable to this, Will the carburettor slide on to the existing 5hp manifold?

To my knowledge, no.
The 10 series 4hp [100900] and 13 Series 5hp [130900] have interchangeable tanks.
The Rover Shredder originally had the 10 series, then both 10 & 13 series.
They are not interchangeable with the later pulsa-jets seen on eBay.

Definitely not.
The smaller pick-up tube was primed from a smaller reseviour in the tank.
This acted as a very clever and efficient primer.
