Hi All,

Wow, my little research projects have been indeed a can and a half of worms
G'day
Mr DavisYeah, that's been my experience too.

That's a great video. I had not seen it before but I am familiar with
The History Guy's stuff.
Many thanks and I hope members get something from it.
What stood out for me was the North American take on the history of the lawn.
Generally, UK history starts from the 17th Century, but this video traces the origins
of 'the lawn' to the 12th Century!
Another thing that stood out - to me - was the different take on the domestic lawn,
and the growth of urban sprawl - the suburbs.
I had written about a great AUS book on this: -https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...ter-acre-peter-timms-2008.html#Post75830We seem to have favoured the British in focusing on the 'backyard'.
North Americans were much more 'showy' in making a statement of the front yard.
The reasons for this are so interesting!
The final bit of interest were the North American stats - about labour spent on lawns
and injury caused by lawnmowers. Amazing!
A very thought-provoking video, Ty.
I wonder what the future of the lawn will be ...?
Cheers----------------------
