Correction. The engine has no identifying name/numbers that i could find. However the 'transfer box' [is that what its called?]chain driven off back wheel [with reverse/neutral/forward shaft]hooked to long rod to lever on floor is stamped MTD. cheers GgordonN

Gordon, The model of the ride on is (5-26) 139-501-000 thru 139-508-000 139-511-000 thru 139-514-000. I am sure that it is a briggs motor and I have the parts list for the ride on except the motor at this time.

Hi and thanks Bruce.Irrespective of it being or not a B&S engine where am i likely to find identifying marks? I have looked over as closely as possible to find but to no avail. Might be better off to strip it partly down to see if there is some indication of origins. Thanks again. GgordonN

GgordonN If you go to the Briggs & Stratton site Click Here and then click watch video and that should help on how to ID your motor.

Hi do you have any photos and/or dimensions of the two engine pulleys? I need to know these since mine is missing these, the part numbers dont exist but I can likely get and MTD one if I know the dimensions. Basically the spacing between the two pulleys and the diameters. Thanks
