Toecutter MkII

I found another 60s Utility in a junk shop with a good motor, so I thought I'd give the old Toecutter a new lease on life. I've made on good one out of all the best bits and I think I'll make an eeevil one out of whatever's left over. mad smile

Excellent Styx. So that's what mine is supposed to look like! I think I got the colour scheme back to front. And it's interesting that there is supposed to be a flap over the grass chute which mine doesn't have. I was wondering about that. It's a bit prone to flinging stones at the kitchen window. Maybe I'll put a flap of rubber there or something. Thanks.

JonS, do what the councils do for their roadside slashers and make a chain curtain for the chute opening. Will stop the flying stones (you have rocks in your lawn?) but won't build up stuff behind it.

The one made out of leftovers, I've just called "Meg the Mower". In tribute to the creative minimalism of Jack and Meg, wink

Haha, yes - rocks, branches, bits of old fencing wire... nothing she can't handle. But yes, some chains would be a sensible idea.

Its good lawn-mowing music, Gadge! smile I dont know what happened to my pictures - must have been too big or something, but heres a low res shot of the whole collection (so far ) I am of the belief that a good lawn mower should be functional, funny, and just slightly dangerous. My fave is still the Toecutter though.

Jon, rather than adding pics as attachments to posts, it's better to upload them directly into the post.

This icon is the one to use: [Linked Image]

This way the pics are stored on the ODK server, thumbnail versions are automatic, and the file size limit is a lot larger [4MB] than it is for attachments.

Cheers,
Gadge
