Hi - Have a Murray 15.5hp ride on with Peerless/Tecumseh H2000-002B Silentrac 6845P91 hydrastatic transmission. Has been working fine but other day went to use the mower which had been sitting in the workshop with transmission in by-pass mode so I could push it around. I moved the by-pass lever under the seat to engage the transmission but the lever only went half way. I started the mower and rocked the pedal between Fwd/Rev a few times and the mower started to move, and eventually drive was operating normally. Mowed the lawn fine and moved lever to bypass to push it in the shed. Went to use it next day and same thing happened. When I move lever out of the by-pass detent position, it only goes across half way and stops there. Now there doesn't seem to be anything I can do that makes it engage. So seems like the transmission is fine, but engaging/disengaging bypass is where the fault is. Does anyone know what the problem is and can it be fixed. - Thanks Ben

Now here Murray Ohio has been out of business for over 10 yrs so some parts are hard to come by. But it should have a Sundstrand hydro pump. It sound there is a seizure in the are of the shaft. but I wouldn't mess with it unless you can find the IPL for the hydro pump for you find its model number.

Just to note Briggs took over the Murray line but not the Peerless transmissions which Husqvarna did not providing parts for the older transaxles.
