Hello ODK History Lovers
The Scott Bonnar Model 65 was the last commercial reel mower design from
Scott Bonnar. It presents as a modernised version of the Model 16 Queen,
introduced in about 1950.

The Model 65 appears to have been introduced in about 1971 ... meaning it
was introduced when Scott Bonnar was under the control of the Swedish
Electrolux Group. That is not certain.

Like the Model 16, the Model 65 was initially offered in three cut sizes -
20", 24" and 30" - and in various configurations, depending upon application.
This means that the Model 65 could be configured for general or specific
application for, "Contractors, Municipal Bodies, and Government Departments."

We see the flexibly of design in the model offering primary design choices -
in terms of number of cutter blades and, smooth or ribbed rear rollers.

There were two distinct model design types: the first models had dual cone
clutches; the latter models had a belt drive primary clutch system. I do
believe the latter models belt drive was a result of cost-cutting measures.

PART TWO - Manuals
The Model 65 was lighter and simpler in design than the Model 16 Queen.
The first iteration of the Model 65 had dual cone clutches - making it a
true dual drive commercial lawnmower, but without the more complicated
drum clutches of the Model 16.

Here is an Operator and Parts Manual for the first-generation Model 65s.
