Hello ODK History Lovers
It was a surprise that in late 2018 an Owners Manual for the
Rotoscythe County should show up.

This is a small but comprehensive manual covering both operating instructions and a parts list.

The manual records the serial number - hand-written by the owner - as 74082 and dated
April, 1956. This mid-1950s mower would be the last County model sold in Australia,
although the model would continue to be developed by UKs J E Shay Limited for the home market.

PART TWO The Operator Manual
This manual is in average/fair condition; given its age and intended use.
Yes, there is some staining of some pages and finger prints appears on page 6 and 7!

This mid-1950s Rotoscythe County Manual is divided into two parts.
The first part is the operator manual.

In this part I love the two photographs one of a guy in a lab coat! (page 3),
and the second showing the height-of-cut adjustment. There are three heights
to select from! At the time, Australia led the world in challenging this primitive
and restrictive system.

Also note the unique circular blades. This design appears to have been unique
to Rotoscythe and appeared from the earliest days.

PART THREE The Parts Manual
This second part of the manual covers the parts list for the BUX engine
and the County chassis. Note the cutter assembly: blade holder (Impeller),
blades, (cutters) and tools that came with this mower
