Hello everyone I've just discovered this site and enjoy reading the posts and checking out the photos I am the owner and director of Greenfield Mowers and would like to contribute to the forums I've been around mowers for all of my 60 years My father was Theo Reinhold who sadly passed away January 23rd 2014 While everybody knows him as Mr Greenfield since 1966 , not many seem to be aware that he started Rover Mowers in 1956 In fact the day I was born in 1958, Dad was too busy to see me because he was busy testing the new Rover Major in Moggill!!! I hope I can be of some assistance in the future Regards Lewis Reinhold

Hello Lewis
A warm welcome from me.

There is a dedicated band of Greenfield admirers and collectors on this site.
I personally use a Greenfield "Enduro" as my weekly driver.

In recent years, we have started documenting your father's patents.
A remarkable - and prodigious - inventor.

Many thanks for your patronage of this site.

Hello Lewis!,

The very warmest of welcomes! Great to have you here!

My own unhealthy obsession with your fathers products started when my late father bought his first new Greenie in the early eighties. I spent hours as a kid hacking it around the hectare we had at Gympie at the time. This very machine is still my daily drive. My mother, sister and her in-laws have modern Greenies.

I set myself the task a while ago that I'd find and own the oldest Greenie I could get a hold of. Reckon I've gotten pretty close........and I've got a few others besides

I'd love to hear more, much, much more about the history of your company, Theo and his work, and his work at Rover.

Again, the warmest welcome!

Cheers,

P.S. Love the story about your birthday!

Hi Lewis, Australia is a better place due to Theos work. No other ride on mower has or will continue to survive as these Greenies do with their own cult following. A few Rovers and Cox survive and continue their working lives, but as a manufacturer that has its upside and also its downside. People love them because of their durability but building a machine that strong means they don't get replaced as often as the other mowers that look all fancy and pretty but just rattle themselves to bits.As for your birthday I hope you forgave him, torn between 2 new babies.

Hi Lewis and a warm welcome to ODK
It is a great pleasure to have someone on our forum who has been around mowers for so long and the expertise you would possess in Greenfield. I am sure you will be fielding many questions from forum members.
Once again Lewis, it is great to have you aboard. grin

Greetings Lewis,

And a [belated] warm welcome to the ODK forums. :welcome:

My family's OPE business was a Greenfield dealership from 1973-83, and I still think a lot of these machines.

We count some serious Greenfield aficionados among our members, and they have come up with some rather rare variants!

This one, for example; a Tractor series with electric start G80: https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/75487/1.html

Cheers,
Gadge
