Hello Bruce, Administrators, Mods and Members

I wish all a happy and festive 2017 Christmas and 2018 New Year.
It would be difficult to argue that 2017 was a great year for the World ...
but then again, neither was 1917. But hope was on the horizon then

The biggest change to ODK occurred this year the introduction of
A small membership fee about 6 AUS dollars.

There was no profit motive but a desire to keep ODK open for
business in the future years. ODK has amassed decades of valuable
information that is irreplaceable.

Many thanks to Bruce and Administrator Darryl for the vision.

I say again: I feel ODK is committed to the forum format - because it can deliver
more in-depth observation, commentary and analysis. It encourages
thoughtful posts, rather than stream-of-consciousness one liners.

This takes nothing away from other formats. In fact, Member Kye runs
a very successful Buy, Swap and Sell Facebook Page. Some discoveries
have been made there, that have not surfaced here. We simply do
different things and engage different clientele.

The ODK forums are as busy as ever, but there is a clear change
in the popularity of some, and the decline of others. Like the
Robert Frost poem, nothing gold can stay ... we aim to develop
these forums to reflect members contemporary needs.

We are as sure as ever that these forums be led by members.
I am so impressed by members who have 'given-back' over many years.

We have had amazing help this year - from folks far away ... from
Tasmania to Tennessee. The reality is, ODK is mainly a transient
group of forums - with most folk coming for a single purpose and
then leaving. But some come back

We personally thank the specialist members who have frequented the
forums this year, giving quality, expert advice time and time again.
I won't single out members - you know who you are. Thank You!

A big thank you to the man they call Bruce for ODK. His vision,
decades ago, has built up a huge cache of valuable repair information.

A big thank you to the Moderators who oversee ODK. We do not
intrude unless we have something to say, or have something to do.
Sincere thanks to Alan, Doug, Manfred and Theo.

A big thank you to members who have supported ODK through these
new times. May the adventure continue.

All the way with ODK.

G'day Jack, G'day All!,

A very Merry Christmas to all!!

For mine I wish Santa brings a slightly less hectic 2018!

And just as it was in 1918 we have HOPE! Let's drink to that :)

Thanks to all the Moderators, Bruce and the team! And I agree Jack, the longer form of communication needs to be allowed to fight the good fight against the thought bubbles of the modern world - but we'll leave that for the new year. Until then,........

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!
