Hi Moby, the only other thing i could think of would be try another plug in it, maybe some something hotter.

Will a genuine Suzuki starter mechanism fit that Mick? I have one here if it will. I can get it down to Brisbane for you in a few weeks time as my neighbours friends from Redcliffe are coming up soon and they will gladly take it down for you.

A solid suggestion Ted, but it's already running an NGK BPMR4A, which is the hottest plug that NGK does in that particular fitment. I swapped the plug out of one of my Suzukis, so I know it's a genuine NGK.

Not as such Trev, because the unit's current Honda/Chonda-clone Starter has 6 bolt-down holes @ 60deg apart, as opposed to the 4 holes @ 90deg apart on a genuine Suzuki Starter. However, I suspect there's a good chance that the cowling from a Suzuki would swap straight over with the Chuzuki's, and thus provide the required 4 bolt holes that would be needed to receive a genuine Suzuki Starter. It's a very kind offer Trev and I thank you for it, but if I thought it was worth doing, I'd just pull the necessary bits off my standby Suzuki.

'Tis a double pity they've used suck krap plastic in the Chuzuki Starter, because its 6 bolt holes allow you to point the Starter Cord Handle just off to either the left or the right of the Handle Bars (so as to suit a left or right-handed operator) in a manner that you just can't do with the original Suzuki, wherein the Cord Handle ends up having to point either directly backwards, or forwards, or sideways. In the right-wrong circumstances, a sideways-pointing Starter Handle on a somewhat hard-to-start Suzuki (albeit perhaps with an unwisely-short Starter Cord) can actually lead to a mower flip-over, courtesy of the motor's light weight... blush

Thanks Once Again,
Moby Mick.
