I took the tyre off the front wheel of my White LT-12 with the intention of putting a new one on, but when I got it off the rim inside was very rusty. On cleaning it up several small holes have appeared right through the rim, so much so that I will not reuse it. I have been trying to find replacements (if I'm going to do one, I might as well do 2) but they seem incredibly scarce in Australia, plenty in USA but the freight is a killer.

The OEM no. is 734-0997, which has been superseded by 753-0838-0662. Tyre size 15 x 6.00 x 6.

Does anyone have any, or, can you tell me where to get them?

I have welded wheels that have rusted out, not like they are going to blow out at high speed. You can then smear JB Weld on the outside so you get a good finish if you need to before painting

I've got a pair of rims that size but they are off a Murray/Sthil/Victa so I don't know if the fitting is the same. Do your rims have the hub bearing built in?, or are they bolt on to a hub?

Hub bearings are going to graphite impregnated plastic bushings. Also the offsets would need to be verified to make if they will fit as well as the size of the spindle axle.

There is often a good reason to repair what you have than try and just replace

Yes, there are times that is necessary to repair like the cost or lack of replacement. I know as I was out of work when my JD 650 mini tractor need new front tires. Upon changing them found the LF rim had rust about a 15mm hole on one side of valve stem hole; of course, I was running water filled tubes so no leaks. I couldn't find an used rim anywhere and I took to learning had to weld it up completely and drill a new valve stem hole. After welding up the hole I ground/file the welds flush, removed all the filings and weld splatter, and repainted. That was nearly 15 years ago and it is still holding.

If you look at the picture, you see the manufacture didn't even clean up the weld splatter. Just plain lazy or too cheap to do it.

I had to repair a rear Deutscher rim a while back. They are a duel wheel rim and one tire had obviously been flat for a long time and water had gotten inside and had rusted out about one third of the way around the rim. I welded in a piece of 25x3 flat bar, took a couple of hours but end result wheel was salvaged

Hi all, I have found one "as new" rim locally, and so far I haven't taken the second tyre off the rim yet to determine the condition of the rim. I'm hoping it is ok as the tyre on the first wheel was completely shot and I assume it was the original, whereas the second tyre looks like it has be replaced at some time. So hopefully someone "cared" for the rim.
I'll keep you posted.
Aussietrev, I'll keep in mind that you have some rims that may be suitable and if I need to go that way I'll check sizes, offsets, etc at that time. Thank you.
