Thanks mate. I finally got around to getting this together with new genuine rings. Gaps were spot on for this engine: top ring spec 0.008'-0.014', i had 0.011. Second ring spec 0.014'-0.020' i had 0.017'. Torqued everything to spec, set all adjustments to spec, engine runs great, starts first pull, no smoke at all.
