That would be a Ransomes Sprite fitted with the 34cc JAP engine.
It would be dated to early 1960s.

These also came fitted with a small BSA 4-stroke.

Interesting Styling...what would something like this be worth?

"Interesting" is an interesting word ...

This was Ransomes' effort to make a cheaper domestic reel mower to
compete with the new lightweight machines from Qualcast and the like.

It adopted a similar styling approach to that of the Conquest that I

I particularly like the 2-stroke machine because of that teardrop
fuel tank. The styling is certainly not to suit all tastes. Perhaps
an operator, wearing a gold coloured shower cap, would love this one.

Value: these come up too infrequently at auction. The last one I
saw was in 2012. Advertised for a small sum, it failed to attract
a bid. Pity that, these machines do have some charm.
