Someone finally dumped a Victa at my local tip, first one I have ever seen there, was getting so sick of Rovers! So, what can anyone tell me about this model? Worth saving? Turns over okay, still has a little fuel in the tank and a brand new spark plug so perhaps just a spark issue? Base seems good, steel base with only a tiny bit of corrosion up near the handle on the carby side, easily fixed. Will put it up on the rack in the next couple of days. In the meantime any information gratefully consumed.

Hi Aussietrev, that's all i've been finding at my local lately,lol, and most of them fried from lack of oil in the fuel.
As for what it is it's basically a "standard 2" in a grey color. They came labelled with varying names, Pacer, tiger, and various others and sometimes not named at all. 6 and 7 inch wheel combo with nylon bushes, not bearings, and straight, not upturned, handlebars.
IMO, it's only worth saving if a visual inspection of the piston through the exhaust port shows it to be in excellent condition. If it's scored and scratched, then scrap it, unless you're going to use it as a learning exercise.
The lack of a starter motor cover on the flywheel housing dates it to pre 92, about 1990 at a guess. By looking at the rake on the mower my guess is the front axle bushes are flogged out or possibly the axle has chewed into the chassis.
