2mm was probably an exaggeration but anyways here's a comparison picture, not even close! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/10/full-8893-24443-victa_needles.jpg) Very different shapes, can't see that yellow one working under any circumstances. Guess we have to be very careful when buying needles.

Problem with used orings is they flatten out and stretch with age (Obviously) but the carby parts all wear/warp usually together - A slight bow in the body will achieve a slight bow in the cap. This means that when the oring is placed on it retains the shape (Some areas around the cap will be closer to the body than others - we're talking fractions of a mm). When the oring is removed it is then replaced with the abnormalities in different spots causing a less perfect seal. This added to the fact that the seal has been broken and the oring stretched when removed (Even just when left on the primer cap like removing your tongue from a frozen light pole).
I usually always replace the oring. It's only $1 after all so why skimp out???!!!
Interestingly I had a yellow needle that I replaced with a used black one from another machine (Was working perfectly - I just swapped it to test a theory) and the black one would not budge from the seat meaning I couldn't get any fuel flow through. It was a fraction of a fraction of a mm thicker. I assumed this was just a manufacturing issue.
my 2 bobs worth here.

ooooooh , think i was missunderstood there , hadto read back n see who was reusing them !! $1 ? wow less than that , never reused one fr that reason , i meant even with the new caps dont seal well , and floats get stuck too . look at the pins now , one isnt moulded too well and needs adjusting as it pinches the outer lug and sticks closed ..... so hmmmm maybe its not only needles huh

Ahhh,
I thought that sounded a bit off for you. Thought you usually do better work than that! :D
Yes. I have had that issue too with some new caps. Not sure why. O rings may be $0.50 not sure. I buy a few at a time and don't really look at the price individually.
