Thanks Sean, it's ok though, whoever took it is going to need some luck with parts, I don't know how much it will sell for but it will require a fair bit of work. Can only think that they saw the wind up handle and couldn't resist.

Have spoken to Damo, he is completely innocent. Culprit is my wife who thought the mower was junk and put it out on nature strip. Dodgey is far better equipped to fix this machine and am glad it's gone to a good home. Why can't wives leave this stuff alone, oh well at least she's a reasonably good cook. Damo, good luck and hope you get it to run.

Lols....
Bizarre story.
Also what are the odds of another active ODK member,
A living close by B Finding it, C Showing it on the forums...
At least we have a happy ending for both parties and that it was saved from the Tin Vultures"
Im still curious as to the Original Paperwork....Did you already have this In your collection Damo?

You're right HT6, a bit bizarre, wife didn't know about the mower and assumed it was junk. She has thrown out stuff before that shouldn't have been chucked out, she just has a low tolerance for mess. Turns out dodgey isn't far from me and he is much more capable than me with Turners, he had the original paperwork and he has a few of these Turners so every chance he'll get it restored. I guess I shouldn't have washed and let it dry out the front but given Dodgey's assessment of it I wouldn't have been able to do anything with it. For the moment I'll stick to Victas and other mowers that I've got spare parts for.

Funny stuff alright. but seems to end in both parties happy. So good result i recon. A mate rang me up last week and told me where there was a mower on the side of the road, when i got there the bloke was mowing his lawn. HA. Question. If the motor is still warm is it ok to grab??? Sean

Your spot on there With Turners, You really need to get a restorable complete,or have spares,as parts are to damn hard to get as I found out when building Frankenturner"
Your former example was rough but almost complete, so a fairly easy restore IMO.
I wouldnt say no if another ever comes my way...
And yeah Victa is a safe bet, Im actually going to tackle a VC soon and it will be my first post 60 Victa resto. So I may need help lols.

My ''er indoors' and I have a very workable agreement. If it is in the shed, outside, or in any way related to the shed or outside, then she doesn't interfere If it is in the sewing room, or in anyway relates to the sewing room, then I stay well clear!
The moderators need to ensure this story is given pride of place somewhere, me thinks. The combined writers of all the rubbish TV shows on the planet couldn't come up with anything half as unbelievable!

I'm a victim of little space. Small block, small house means I can't store much and when I do it has to stay outside and then things get wet. It all means I can't store things for long. My wife is always looking to throw things out, she doesn't need much incentive to do so. I have to say I really envy those of you that have enough space for all your mowers and spare parts.
