i have found 2 sizes of bosses. i need ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-22885-dscf4807.jpg) the pulley on the left is from a 550 so i believe the boss in the middle fits into the pully but the shaft size is larger than any other full crank i have. found a fella the other day that said he would machine one for me. i presume i cannot get one from anywhere? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-22886-dscf4765.jpg) Question. do i have to use any particular type of steel? cheers

do you have side start fullcrank around ? i know top of the crank is different it had a flat side to locate the flywheel but wasnt aware the bottom of it was too ! now you know how easy it is to remove it find another and measure the O.D of it , see if its the same then knock it off and try it i think i only have the one here and it is from a 550 so not much help really , should need to machine one up im almost sure ! try another side pull 1st that doesn't have the pulley already on it

just measured, both are 50mm. i recon there is no need for a longer shaft as the blade plate compensates, there are also spacers between the motor and the frame

i shouldnt think they would but stranger things have happened , would be hard to imagine they had crankshafts made for a few self propelled's . even a different diameter and maybe taper is a toughie but i will look at some tomorrow too cold now hahaha , you seem to have a few laying around there too rusty see what you come up with ? got me thinking here

same blade carrier just longer blades on mine , still have the plate . whats 50mm ? exposed end of crank ?? a lot of machines did have spacers its why you refit them depending if it had or didnt have . why not just change the topends over ? problem solved

its rebored inside doesnt mean its different , just the piston is larger and needs to stay the same . (see matched sets) change the barrel AND piston from another engine keep them matched and together = same barrel and piston from one to the other engine . easy huh

Now ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-23062-dscf4764.jpg) putting the motor from this on ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-23063-dscf4833.jpg) I just hope i have the belt setup right, checked youtube. I know this motor runs really well so i am quietly confident, but because i said that it wont go. will let you know

!!!!!! it would seem that the blade plate is stuck hard against the frame. I put the spacers in maybe i should have left the washers out ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-23066-dscf4834.jpg) could i put a large washer inbetween the boss and the blade plate or do i need to pull the motor off and take the washers out and see?

hmmmmmmmm didnt put 2 sets of spacers by chance ?? look close , they are already fitted between crankcase and nut , then maybe you put more under nuts between nuts and base ? please check 1st ! then lets know whats going on ?
