How do I tell what model S&B cylinder mower I have? - it has a black B&S 3hp engine with a 17" cylinder - Is it worth restoration?

Hello David L!
If your machine is 17" it can only be a Model 45. The Model 45 is the most re-storable SB machine made. There is good supply of the wearing parts.
Some photos would assist with the decision to restore.
Hope this helps. ---------------------------------- JACK

This is the best I can do for now - Purchased 20 odd years ago - used a couple of times - last time about 3 years ago. Tried to start recently but would only fire with Start Ya Bastard by quickly died. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-3425-23025-mower.jpg)

Hello David
Yep, that's a late Model 45. The engine is a re-power replacement.
A very re-storable machine... and a very good reel mower; that still holds its own today for good design.
Plenty of information on the 45s on these forums.
Hope this helps. --------------------------- JACK
