Probably obvious but how can I tell a standard piston, I have seen oversized Pistons marked with 020 and 040 etc but what markings are on top of a standard size piston, if any ?

Thanks

I don't know about Victas in particular, but the usual way to check piston rings is to put them in the bore and check the gap.

Std piston is 2.125" (53.97mm) There are no markings on the crown of a genuine or quality am Piston. NX...." prefix part nos are often present Internally on genuine pistons or Polson" for later replacements.

Ring size can be measured by bore as Grumpy suggests or compressed gently and an external vernier reading can be taken.

OS Piston sizes can then be measured from the original piston size to gain correct OS info when they are not marked (Using increments of 10 thou.)

All OS 125 pistons should have some form of marking, whether it be by internal Pt no (genuine and Polson), Crown impressed (AM), or Crown stamped (repco) are some examples.

Thanks HT6 and Grumpy, no markings on top of the piston and I have the barrel off now so I will measure the piston for size. Having the measurements now is extremely helpful.
