Congrats on working out the 'smilies'.

Haven't encountered dodgy repos of these exhausts, 'cos I haven't had to work on a Victa for years; I guess you mean the VC160 and later 'box' muffler?

Even with OEM units, there was a bit of a trick to doing that job! grin

Cheers,
Gadge

yep , that's right Gadge, the repo 'box' mufflers dont have the lips like the originals, they seem to be one piece rather than front and back pressed together, so the clip just keeps popping off!!! most frustrating. makes working out the smiles look easy lol

I'd venture to speculate that the cheapo repros are made in some Chinese factory; where nobody has ever seen a Victa in the metal! WTF

So they have no idea that the joint flange [known to sheeties as a 'standing seam'] is also an essential part of the mounting system... crazy

Cheers,
Gadge

Oh well, just another example of 'ya get what ya pay for'.

After all, there are faithful repro's of Victa mufflers available [e.g. through Gripske's GA Spares]!

Cheers,
Gadge
