The filter was an afterthought. Ive seen how much the original chokes were selling for on fleabay and i thought bugger that if im going to have to pay a hundred bucks for one. So i thought of something to look like period hot rodder. Something that wouldnt look out of place on say a flathead V8. I literally found the air filter in the rubbish. It's amazing what paint can do. The wheels are reproductions and not painted. The wheel caps are original but painted because they were a very faded translucent pink looking. I plastic primed them after cleaning and painted them simply bright orange.
It looks really good! It's a sensible approach to make do - even if it is temporary. Given that Kirby were making Victa crankshafts, it's nice to see a Kirby filter as well.
Nothing wrong with a bit of Rat Rotor.
