Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has info on the turner vulcan? I found one on hard rubbish day and it's in not too bad condition just the snorkel is missing and the blades. I am assuming it has a Villiers engine because of the Villiers carb or did they make their own engines but used Villiers carbs? I'm also wondering about where to find parts because so far ebay and google hasn't found anything. Thanks

Hi Jarrod,Welcome to ODK.

It must be Turner week lols.

There is very limited info on Turner mowers.

Recently the forum Historian,CyberJack" has been researching Turner History and a few site members have acquired various models and slowly comparing the models dates and variations.

I know a little of the Vulcan, but if you wouldnt mind we really need images of your machine in order to research the archives for the model history accurately.

The use of Villiers engines on the Turner was very common, particularly the Torque Major And earlier the lauson and Kirby/ lauson.

Earlier versions are model and date coded so check your base for markings(usually the rear of base).

As for parts, they are hard to come by for the mower itself. Engine parts less so. A member may have some parts you require.

So throw up some images and we may be able to shed some light of your machine.

Try this link in the meantime and see if its similar or an earlier model.

Hi,
Yes it's very similar to that one if not the same just with a different name and colour. I will take some pictures tomorrow. It doesn't run I think it might not have spark but it could be the spark plug because it looks like the original plug! It's a brand I haven't heard of matorette or something like that. I only really need blades for it. I noticed Turners seemed to be popular on here atm perhaps their making a comeback?

Thats good news Jarrod...A come back, hmmm I hope not lols. Yes be good to see the images as it will help our research greatly. Any tags numbers or markings you come across will be beneficial for future enthusiasts too. I think the more info we can gather, the more examples and interest we may see in the future....

Hi Jarrod, Bluegmhtmonaro and ODK members,

Mal, as always, is spot-on. I agree, I think photos will really help for the record.
I have nothing on a Turner Vulcan. I think Turner have been undervalued for years.
It may be that their mid-arch base and turbo chute pre-empted the Victa VC's.

p.s. Blades may be available from the ODK website: HERE

Yes, what's going on with this Turner thing?
I think it must be some miss-alignment between Halloween and Mal's Frankenturner.
I've heard stories of children taking Turner mowers with them for 'Trick or Turner'.
Sometimes, when the neighbour opens the door, there's just ... the Turner ... shocked

All very spooky.

I haven't forgotten about the pictures. I took a few yesterday but now I'm trying to figure out how to upload them on here because I'm using my phone so I'm going to try on my computer tonight.

Here are the instructions for using the Forum Inline Uploader for pics...Click HERE

Your method Mal, is absolutely correct, but a lot of new members don't know which one is the upload tab!
All good stuff mate,
cheers2
