Hi bobber, welcome to Outdoorking.
Let's start with the easy part. The serial number prefix GJ03 means that your engine is a GXV160, which is currently Honda's most popular push-mower engine. Furthermore, your particular engine was made in Japan, and may therefore have better quality control than the more common run of GXV160 engines, which are currently made in China.
With regard to the mower number, H means Honda, R means rotary mower, 21 means it has a 21" cutting width, and 6 means it has an engine of approximately 6 hp. The advertised horsepower of the GXV160 is actually 5.5, but because Honda only uses 3 digits to describe the mower dimensions, and "5" had already been used for their 5 hp engine (the GXV140), they chose to cheat a bit and call the GXV160 "6" in the model name. There should be a sticker on the top of the engine's plastic top cover, stating that it is 5.5 hp.
I'm not familiar with a trailing zero in a Honda mower model number: the next figure after the engine power, if there is one, usually designates series number, if we add a "K" in front of the number. AFAIK, there never was a series K0. It looks to me as if that is a European model, not covered by either the American or Australian model numbers, both of which I can more or less make sense out of (though they are different from each other). You may find out more by looking specifically at Honda's European sites.
If there is something wrong with the mower and you are looking for assistance with this, please let us know.

Hi grumpy, thanks for answering Actually I knew the info you gave me.... I hoped to find something about that pesky trailing 0 and the fact that serial numbers are higher than what I find on the honda's website. It IS a european model I assume given the fact that I'm in France but still nothing on the web After some tinkering I think Ive found the problem, it was caused by bent governor rod, but believe me I was getting crazy looking for the cause. Well now it seems to work, I just need to adjust the rpm, it looks rather low, but it's only my guess and I'd like to know the manufacturer's setting before poking in. I really hope someone would be able to give me some info.... I'm more than sure that there's an equivalent model on US or AUS market, I just need to find out wiach one. Wish ma some luck

You are welcome, bobber. To me the pushrod Hondas, including yours, are the most pleasant and satisfying small engines to work on that I have ever found. I hope you have fun, and I'll look forward to the outcome. We're happy to help if you get stuck at any point.

Well, after some further fiddling with governor I think I've managed to put it into correct position, now it starts reliably and holds revs under load. I still think it under-revs slightly but since I've got no means of checking it I'll leave it there until I find a tachometer. Anyway I'm really pleased with this mover, it starts after the first pull, lots of power, it fills up the bag really well, shortly a pleasure to work with! And the best part is I've got it for about $40 being sold as "for spares" Thanks grumpy for taking your time to help us!

There's a reason for that mower being so popular bobber. Here in Australia it is probably the most popular single model used by mowing contractors. Thank you for reporting the outcome. Incidentally, this is the tachometer I use for tuning mower engines: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Resettab...arts_Accessories&hash=item461af926ccIt certainly isn't perfect but I do find it useful. I'll close this thread.
