Hi Bruce, Just replaced the condensor and points on my 125 VICTA owing to no /very weak spark Now I have a big fat spark...but the mower wont run! Well...it did for about 2 seconds! Fuel is getting through...I put a new air filter on, nice fat spark when I crank it over.... HELP! This must be a timing fault...the magneto is gapped to the right specs.... do I need to adjust the plate the magneto sits on???

victamowerman, Ok did you clean the points prior to putting them in and setting gap? When you put the 'E' plate back on did you make sure that you had the crew in the centre of the slot? What is the play in the bottom bearings (to check hold the blade plate & see if it moves from side to side)? How old is the petrol that you are trying to start the mower with (the time that you bought if from the petrol station)? Answer these first and we will go from there. Hi Bruce. The points and condensor were brand new...I recently came back from Australia I bought them from Mt Colah Mowers (what a helpful bloke who works there) The fuel is a little old.....maybe 7 months? I didnt take the E plate off.......although i think I may have moved the whole assembly that it all sits on. There seems to be no real play in the bearings.
At the risk of answering my own question, I think i need to re time the magneto.....???

victamowerman, 1st thing GET RIDE OF THAT FUEL because it will not fire (no vapour). Next set the 'E' plate so that the screw in the middle of the slots. The bet is it will go. Regards, Bruce ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/board/biggrin.gif)
