Hi All,

A Recent discussion with czislowski across the waters at VM.net, has lead me to a wonderful site for finding information relating to the history of so many mowers it is not funny.

The site is called Trove, and it is run by the National Library of Australia, it databases a large number of newspapers, books, adds, etc. form all many decades, and thanks to the effort of volunteers such as czislowski, who has transcribed over 40,000 lines of advertising into the database, it can be text searched.

I have been having a lot of fun going through the newspapers section, as the papers are dated, the adds for mowers give an interesting timeline!

Thanks Ty and especially Czislowski at VM.net for sharing this valuable resource with us. This information could prove invaluable with dating early machines, launch dates, colour schemes, decals used and variances in transitional machines....Well done Ty, and thanks mate!

Yeah Ty I stumbled across the site somehow the other day, I dont know if it is the same place Unkiemonk found a lot of his early advert stuff but I seen some that were familiar, just need some more time to get back and do some more looking around.

Interesting too come across this thread...Yes its a good resource, been using it for ages and in conjuction with manuals and Real mower examples for accuracy in restos...I assumed most here knew it existed and used it for researching their machines...My bad!
