I have been given an old reel mower with a 4 stroke Kirby Tecumseh engine. Any ideas how to find a manual for it? Or possibly any general 4 stroke engine info to get me by?

Bruce,
It's a small 17' Scott Bonnar with a Kirby engine. I managed to fire it up on the w.end, and the blades and engine seem fine. However, it is either stalling or revving flat-out, there's no in between. I would really appreciate some info on the carby and how the pully's and adjustments can be alterred and tuned.
Any info. would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Clay.

Clay, The old kirby engine usually has an adjustment screw under the carby bowl for the fuel mixture. Have you cleaned the carby yet? Flush out the fuel tank as well. I can forward you some information on the carby but it could take a few days as I have not scanned that information as yet.
Regards, Bruce
