Hi guys
I was in process of fixing up a power torque and attaching the engine to the base when the engine mount below the starter snapped off and I can't technically tighten one of the mounts. The block is in great knick along with the piston with no scores. The engine is still held by three mounts solidly. I wanted to know if anyone had encountered this before. I don't want to throw the block out. Any suggestions? Ill post photos tomorrow as I'm way from homes.

Pics would be best to judge whats happened, Most times when a mount has broken on these, the casting was very crystalline or a chinese block. Which mount is it?

It is the mount directly below the starter rope.
It's the Aussie made block as the cooling fins are close together.
I'm not home at the moment so can't put pics up sorry. Will do some pictures this afternoon.
The engine still mounts solidly.
Any suggestions?

The engine was running spot on before I stripped it all down for a clean and check up.

No suggestions on this one? This engine block might be destined for the bin!

i did have one with a simillar problem , it too was going to be scrapped but a mate wanted something for own use ONLY and asked if he could have it , so i warned him to keep checking things , look for more cracks and bin it if he found any , that was i think 5 years ago and its still running strong cutting bush block he has . but i sure wouldnt recommend selling a thing like that ever . if its for your own use maybe keep it if it runs well until it dies but dont move it on .... keep safe

Iv already scrapped this block. I have taken off all the good bits. I agree with you. Best to get rid of it!

I did find it really strange when it happened. It was the Aussie block which was even stranger as they are meant to be the good ones.
