so ive been looking at cylinder mowers for ages now thinking they look interesting
picked this up the other day for $150
runs great and cuts ok
blades are bent in places and i guess sharpish as i cut my hand open
it is pretty beat up, catcher has its share of dents and rust, but its not new
the 23 tooth gear is worn as chains were very dry but its still got heaps of the teeth left
not sure what im even going to do with it just interested...

Hi bigred, and a warm welcome to the forum.
There are several threads on the Victa Imperial that may be of interest to you....You must realise that the chassis parts are very thin on the ground for your machine, but as yours is a running complete mower it would make a nice restoration.

You may consider wearing gloves when handling the cylinder reel, the blades can be very sharp on the back edge; though blunt on the front where the cutting action takes place.

If you could take some close-up pics of the reel and the bottom (bedknife) blade as well as the sprockets and chains, I will assess their condition for you.
