Hi Adam, welcome to Outdoorking.
We do not have any information on a Victa 8-30 in our manuals section. You are probably aware that Victa did not manufacture ride-ons, they imported them from the US and labelled them Victa. The first step in your project would be to find out who manufactured the 8-30 and what was the correct model name or number. Then we could try to find some information. I suggest that you begin by sending a Private Message (see My Stuff at the top of the page) to Bruce, the Outdoorking site owner. Bruce is a very experienced mower dealer, and he can probably supply the information you need on model number. He may even be able to find and upload some technical information.

Skapinad and to the forum, it looks like your ride on is in pretty good condition and should not take much to get back to looking new again, best of luck with it and keep us posted as to your progress, might just want to start a new topic under the ride on section, cheers and welcome.

Hi Skapinad, and a warm welcome to OutdoorKing. I have just spoken to Bruce (forum owner and administrator) he is going to have a look for the manual and upload it, if it is available. Thanks Jonesy, I will move this thread to the correct area now, and re-title it. Post is now in correct area.

Cheers Jonesy and Deejay.
Hopefully can work out what it is and whether parts are easy to come by.... Last time i used it the deck only cut on ocassion, and slipped like buggery in forward gear. Motor was rebuilt though around 1990 and has had little use since... I pulled the dipstick and it is nice and clear.

Adam, on the spark plug end of the engine (front) you will find Model, series & code numbers pressed into the engine cowel, if you post them up, some of these fine gents will be able to give you an accurate year etc.
If you dont make a mess you aint making anything.
