help2
G'day all I have A 13 hp Briggs and Stratton engine in a Toro wheel horse. son pored fuel in the tank the other day. Today when to start bone dry. Refilled the tank went to start the carby is blowing a mass amount of fuel out of it. Checked the oil and I found out where the fuel my son pored in the tank went to. WTF What would cause fuel to run from tank to the sump. Valves or rings. Have pulled the whole motor down for a recondition I think.
It is model 28M707 type 0122-01 code 960712ZB. Any help is always appreciated.

The float needle or seat in the carburettor would give you the symptoms you suggest, the carby will flood and send the fuel down the oil breather into the sump.

Good thing at this point I have only removed the head yay . I am going to clean up the valves and reseat and lap them. The exhaust valve was so gummed up it is not funny. I will pull the carby down and give a rebuild. Least I recon it has given the sump a good clean out. When I removed the breather fuel started to bubble up from the sump. I was thinking that this would have to be terminal. The breather did have a lot of fuel in it when I pulled it off. I hope it is as a simple fix as that.

With the carburettor ( Walbro LMT 38) it appears that the float is non adjustable. how do you adjust it. I am going to get a rebuild kit though. Just having a look to see if I could just clean it out and get it running.
