looks like the base is in great condition ! even if the base was shagged out you would have had the handles for your 511 consul ! my consul is currently having some bits cast into it to repair it , and later on its possible that i can have bases re produced.

Yes it is in good usable and re-storable condition.Arh no I won't be wrecking it for a consul 2 these babies are just as hard if not harder to find.I guess all I need is another set of handles and I could make up one myself as I think I have the correct engine off one.

I like this mower, Its nondescript, Its slightly bland But it has a complexity about the bland nondescriptness of it... I Really need to stop letting my girlfriend read me so much poetry... But All Jokes aside, Its really Cool and looks in good shape for its age(?) One thing though, Is that Snorkel original? It looks to me that it has a clip on the handle for a longer hosepipe (pic 3) and that the Air Filter Cylinder would go farther up still than the clip. Kori

Yes that is the correct air cleaner. That plastic clamp on the handles wasn't available until the mid 70's.So I'm not sure what the story is with it or why it is even there. However there should be some sort of bracket to support the air cleaner, but never seeing one before I don't know what it looks like.As what is there appears to be broken. If I did know what it was like I would be able to make something like the original to support it.

I took another look over the pictures, And thought maybe there was some kind of clip that held the air filter on to the Air Shroud. Pic of Something Maybe being whats left of or part of clip. And then Here's what I envisioned the Bracket to maybe look like (Sorry For the Awful drawing, Im not a great artist) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/01/full-5772-9668-cadet_1.png) Kori

If we are going to guess, I seem to see the remains of 4 hexagonal-headed screws in and above the stump of that bracket. Also, surely that type of air filter would have its axis vertical rather than horizontal, to keep water from running into it. Hence, I'm guessing you are on the right track Kori, but your design is probably a near-miss for what Victa did. However surely there are several Outdoorking members who have restored mowers of that model? How about a picture or two please?

Jeffery , i do believe the bracket is ment to be spot welded on as the bracket is part of the main filter housing ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/01/full-5911-9673-cam00029.jpg)

Thanks guys for your input.tomo4192 spot on I have that in one of my books thanks for reminding me.I have just been so busy trying to protect the mowers from the mower room flooding. That I just forgot to look in my books. At least everybody can now see what it is suppose to look like. Kori good work you went to a bit of effort with that. I appreciate you doing that well done.
