Hi grumpy and thanks for your help here is the numbers of the Falcon.Model number:92502 Type:5182 01 Code:88080952. I'm not sure if this is right as to what you said, maybe it would be around the other way.Correct me if I'm wrong (Please) I read it as 5 Jan 1982.Would that be correct? I know it would be around that 1982 mark.Hope I'm starting to understand now. Thanks mate.
Yeah Jeffrey, Joe was spot on..... Trust Briggs to have the date code all back to front!!

There is something a bit odd going on with the model number. A 92502 has a VacuJet carburetor, but your carburetor is a PulsaJet. It sounds as if someone has swapped the tank-and-carburetor assembly for the one from a 92902 or 92908. It isn't any problem, they swap over almost perfectly (the breather pipe fitting that goes on the carburetor is not an ideal fit, but it's pretty good). However if a previous tenant has made that swap s/he may have made others. Are you sure it says 92502, not 92902?
Because your engine was built after the beginning of 1982, it will have Magnetron electronic ignition. This is a good thing - no points to deteriorate or need adjustment, no worries about oil getting into the points compartment, and no need to pull the flywheel off from time to time to get a look at the points. The Magnetrons are very reliable, and can be replaced in just a few minutes anyway.
Thanks guys, yes grumpy that is the correct code.Well I'd say they have been changed as the tank and carby are both white and I'd say the engine was black.Don't know what ignition it has I didn't actually take any notice. Not that I pulled it that far apart, although I did have the cooling cowl off.Just didn't take any notice of it.Once the uploading of pictures is fixed I will put up the picture of the cowl.
The uploader is back up and running, Blumbly. The software king has worked his magic. Sorry about the glitch that led to it being unavailable through the weekend.
Thanks Grumpy here is some other pictures of the Falcon. It's not the prettiest mower but now it is running fine.Smoke all gone.It must have had oil in the muffler as the smoke didn't last long at all.In-fact I'd say its a very good engine sounds strong and no unusual noises.Hear is the you-tube link.Check out those sexy legs.
This is the only part I need now.I don't have a spare one as it had the 2 holes to hold it down.I looked at one with one hole seeing if I could make it fit.Only to find it was broken where the cable goes in.Bugger I still miss my mowers,it won't be until after Christmas until they get here.[Censored]!!So if any one has a spare please? I'm looking at you Joe,maybe. ...and this is the cooling cowl from the Falcon.
Maybe it's an audio recording issue Blumbly, but in that video, it sounds like a bucket of bolts being shaken vigorously. If it sounds like that in reality, I wouldn't be prepared to stand near it when it was running.
Yes I don't what you tube are doing. There is a feature they have that is suppose to take the shaking out if the video, but all it does is makes the audio sound like crap.I've tried to disable that feature but it still buggers the audio.
I must admit I don't have as much fun with these types of engines either. Not sure why but I just don't seem to enjoy it as much as an old 2 stroke.I guess that's just me.
