hi all, dave from SA here.
I found an old victa 18 automatic and have joined to get some info, help and tips for the old girl before restoring her.

I will post up some pics and start a thread somewhere here when I suss it out.

Before I do that, can someone help me with the location of engine number and any other numbers I need to find to properly date and identify my 18.

Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, and Welcome :)Get some pics up and we can tell you exactly what it is:) For quick reference your engine no is located on the carby side on the upper half of the engine crankcase.
Also a single number digit(usually) on the lower half. This will determine at least what model the engine came of and if its original to your mower. There are no other numbers to Identify a victa 18,only the mower style/appearance.
But Images and the number together will make it much easier.

Yes I agree pictures would be great makes it easily to Id it. After all we cant tell what it is, you may have a rare one, then we see it and say no. After all a picture can tell a thousand story's. Thats not the writing saying but you know what I mean.
