Yes it is good, but I may upset you as I'm going to restore it.Not that it will take much.Just re-chrome handles and paint base. Not much needed for this one.
OK I have got her going woo hoo .I'm a happy she goes and goes well also she even drives herself like she was suppose to.Here is the YouTube link.
This baby is fastly (I know that's not a word, but it's how I feel) becoming my new favorite mower from the 70's.So much so here are some pictures I took of her today. Very minimal clean here in fact it was just a hose off. ...and just to show you that after the video she got another wash down. I really do like this one a lot.It took over 12 months to find but it was well worth the wait.
Now now her grass cutting days are over now,(well not full lawns at least until the restore. Then no mowing at all.Hi nathan_867 yes it is clean, cleaner that I thought it would come up.By all means watch the video there is a stunningly hansom man there. Not the greatest clothes on but it was fairly warm here today.
Had a little problem with this old girl over the weekend. She changed her mind about being an auto drive and wanted to become a straight away drive, ie when she'd she would just take off. So I had a look and found lots of junk around the clutch lever which seem to help, but when she starts now she still try's to move slowly. Is this normal? I haven't had a lot to do with these so I'm not sure. So need some advice. I can stop it from moving by just putting my hand on the bars, but if you lift while idling the back will turn at reasonable speed, with the handle in the stop position.
belt might be a touch tight ? the idler (brass looking one) siezed or sticky drive cable , one i had here was all of those at once ! now working great . but looks the goods though , brilliant looking auto man again
Belt doesn't seem to be tight at all on fact I would have thought it would have needed to be tighter. The cable when not in gauged is lose and can move at fork end. Not lose or flopping around. Could it be in the gear box itself? I've. Never had one apart so I don't know what's in there.
Does anybody know how to change the oil in the gear box? Just a couple more pictures of it. More of just testing if I could do it by phone. Just let know about the picture quality.
Ty (Mr Davis) was telling me (on the phone) that they take oil. I must admit that I haven't looked at that yet. I will have a look over the weekend ill tell you what I find.
Just going through some of my old topics and I realized that I never put up the link of this old girl running. Here she was when I got her up and running. VC-160 Auto Drive Mark I
Check out those Lilly white legs of the person using it. Wasn't the greatest lawn there.Very dry lots of dirt.
