I've been experiencing the same problem with my Mac 10-10 Auto. that Shane mentioned in an previous post. I've been through the carb. twice and replaced the fuel line and fuel filter. It idles and runs well at mid and full throttle until it gets thoroughly warmed up, then it stalls at idle and won't restart (unless I'm holding the throttle open). I just finished cleaning the points, and cleaning off all of the electrical connections, and it ran for about 15 minutes and started stalling at idle. Anyone have any ideas (I'm running low on firewood).

John,
It appears that you either have an air leak or your piston ring gap is larger than it should be.
Check you cylinder for any scoring and wrong gap this can be done through the exhaust port.

Problem solved as follows. New diaphrams (any slack in old ones is a problem). Umpteen combos of idle detent and low/high jet settings run some of the time, only one combo works all the time. HI and LOW affect each other a lot, and various detent/low jet combos give proper idle speed. Magic combo on this saw is 1 3/4 low and 1/2 high. Set idle detent to suit. Start cold with 1 pull full choke, 1 pull 1/2choke, then no choke. Start hot with no choke and throttle held full open. Watch for crack in fuel line at carb, only opening when warm. That and the diaphrams is what got me adjusting the carb and loosing the initial "magic combo". Good luck.
