Well only if it's look after I guess.I got a VC-160 Mark II (same as your) when I started pulling it apart to restore it, I did find much of the original mower left to restore.I think the only parts that are going back on it is the base axles and crankcase. Not very well looked after.

I stuffed up the VC 160 sticker and i had to put something on there so i used a red bull can to make that.. I like it kind of goes with the rest of the mower. It was hard getting the look wright not being original in colour..It would have been alot more easy to do if i just went with the original colour....the next mower i do will be original in colour thats for sure haha...

Looks good and shiny.
Probably a bit too good to mow grass with now. lol.

Not sure if its my eyes or the pictures, the ones you put up of the motor, looked awful dry in the cyl with the new piston in it. Pays to slop a good bit of two stroke oil in the crank case and all over the piston when you are putting the engine together.

That's quite the interesting restoration you have there chris, Well Done!!!

Your machine is indeed a 1971 V96 VC-160 (VJ71) this is the second series of VC-160, which introduced the Series 70 MKII Engine (The first with Decompression Assisted Recoil, or "ZIP" Starting)

One of the first things I noticed though was your starter, which appears in the pictures to have originally been a very faded green. This is actually off the first series of VC-160 Auto-Drive, which was the only Auto Drive to use the green starter and cowl.

It's a pretty awsome colour scheme, and I think selecting the mustang wheels (or 'Whitewalls') really gives it that xtra touch, but tell me, where are the wings?

Cheers
Ty

Thanks for the information on this old mower i don't know much about them...yeah i was thinking why the starter was a faded green the ones ive looked at on the net all seem white.. its a really nice mower to use i can see why you guy's like them, and the wings well if i was to put the blades on upside down i think she would fly! (joking) haha...Cheers

Yeah maybe that's something to think about a front spoiler, side skirts and a rear wing.Maybe the wing that goes on the catcher.Hey that's giving me ideas now. After all somebody made these ones up.
