Seen this model 9 Sheerline on eBay the other day.Seen that it was in Canberra and close to home I thought, hey why not? So naturally I won the bidding. After picking it up I noticed that it is on a model 6 Sheerline base.It also has the tank straps on it.Don't know why but I haven't seen a lot of these with the tank straps. If you look in the Victa green book it shows the tank straps.Just not sure why most don't have them.Wooo Hooo now I have one. Here's some pictures of it.

It came with the original impulse starter. Not bolted on it. Unfortunately some fool has pulled it apart so the screws that hold the starter to it's base plate have gone.I just know that I won't have any screws to fit that.If any body has some they don't want please let me know.I know I could go and get some new ones, but the original ones were flat head screws.I wouldn't be able to get flat head ones. Also doesn't have the starter cup for it.I need one of those as well.I have one that was on a Concul 2 but it's to big for this flywheel.

Hi Jeffrey, and congrats on a great score there mate! grin
Found this page whilst looking for some info....thought it might be of interest. wink

As an aside, the tank on your Sheerline looks like the one originally fitted to the Jetfast edger that Joe now owns. It was secured by large cable ties and had no other method of fixing it to the machine. I now know why....it was missing its straps! wink

Now for the hard part finding a HG Palmer badge. They are very hard to find as they came off more than the Victa badges did.
Here is a comparison of how much the Sheerline base has worn down.
Four Star base.
[Linked Image]
You can see how far away the slots are from the edge of the base.
Now the Sheerline base.

Holes are open so you can see how worn down the edge is.Really not sure if it is fixable. Then again I'm not real sure it would be worth the time or effort.

hi , sorry to ask might be a silly question but is the muffler on the H,G a common type ? or is it the same as the one on some victa's , looks the same as one on a corvette . cheers Dave

Hi Dave no the muffler on the HG Palmer is not the right muffler. They had a hamburger muffler. They were designed for this mower. The hamburger muffler of a Victa won't fit as they hit on the bottom of the handle bar bracket.I think I have one somewhere where the mounting hole is offset and should fit .Also I have managed to get the next model of the four star (The red four stroke),simply called four stroke, from 1961 to 62.Ty is picking it up for me this weekend.
This is the only picture I have of it so far.

I can't wait to see it.It fills in the cap.Now I will have (I think) from model 1 to model 12.
