Garage-mahal for mowers
Got too many mowers???? Heres the trick.
Time, about half a day.
Cost, $10 worth of screws, all the other stuff was free.
Im going to make up 3 of these maybe more.
This one was the hardest, was a futon couch-double bed with a single on top, bunk bed. Used the ends of the futon and base for bed on the bottom, extended the lower legs with some tubing off a tramoline. Bed frame in the middle was slightly wider so i used 2 opposing cuts with the grinder in each leg to pull them in then welded them back up. Then cut up the bed ends for the single and put them on top and used the rails from the futon to put the roof on.
I think its 750 under the 1st shelf, 700 up to the next and the top on is 500 or so.
Some tek screws i had here and some bits of wood i raided from next door and tin and its all done.
The bed frames all came from the hard rubbish.
The ones with the mesh are the best. Wheels roll ok on it, i figure if a 100kg lardy arse can sleep on it 4 mowers shouldnt stress it too much. (white base was allready bent)
Dont worry if the bed does not come with the bolts and pin type nuts. You can buy long 6mm galv bolts from bunnings and i used an old height relay rod off a mower cut up into bits with holes drilled and tapped for the nuts.
The other two im going to make are a 4 single beds the same that would make up 2 bunk beds.
Ive got some pipe that will slide in the corner posts so they should be easy to make. Then ontop i have some rails and a few other bed ends and stuff so im sure i can roof em up OK.
If it was going in the shed there would be no need for a roof. Maybe an extra shelf instead.
