Hey Guys, I have just picked up a Victa Eclipse fitted with the orgional 70 series MK1 engine complete with impulse starter. Wanted to know two things - How do I know if it is 160 or 125cc? and what year is the mower approximately? Thanks
To tell the difference between the 125 and 160, look at how the cylinder is attached to the crankcase, a 125 is held down at the base of the cylinder with 4 nuts, a 160 has long throughbolts that are used to hold both the cylinder and head on.
Series 70 MKI puts it between 1969 and 1971, If you could get a few photo's up of the mower, that would help us tell you more, and if you can give us the serial number, even more.
The serial number is stamped on the top lip of the lower crank case half, on a flat spot, on the carburettor side.
