Hi, back again this time with some pics hoping someone can please I.D. my Victa 18. It has a crankcase number AA954 with what I think is a 1 underneath Seems like a really low number to me and it also has a toe ring with bigger squarer wheel cutouts than I have seen previously, I have put in a pic of a baseplate with a different looking toe ring which is the type that I have usually seen. Yes as I had put on the other post. That is the exact model I had put pictures up on.I'm sorry to say but there is nothing rare about the number.By the time Victa got to these models they where bushing out huge numbers of mowers. Before the model 5 there was some scence in there numbers,by the time they were selling these all the numbers went out the window. All that can be told is that would be the original engine. These were the last Model 5's to be made and all the engine numbers had letter in front of the numbers. There is no real pattern to the letters and so far no hard evidence has been produced as to a pattern. The first picture is the 2nd model 5 and the one that is complete is the 3rd model 5.Don't worry about the different's in the toe rings there were quit a few different styles.I'm not sure how many but there were a few.Hope this helps you out.Nice mower none the less. Also just so you know, even though there was a large number of the 3rd version made these bases are certainly getting harder to find.I know they are I want one more and have been searching for a while now.

Many thanks Blumbly for your response, you sure know your early Victas. Was more curious than anything else (we all know what that did to the cat) happy now just to know even if not so rare. Thanks again

Hi Jeffery, if you examine the second last pic closely you will see a hole in a similar spot as the Model 4.Can't see the other side as it is covered by dirt. wink
What's occurring here?
cheers2

Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member.

Deejay, not sure which hole you are talking about? That mower looks normal to me, nothing out of place etc?

Yes I know what he is talking about. All Model 4's and 5's had these at the front and the back.As far as I know they where just there for drain holes. For say you washed it or you spilled fuel over it.Not sure if there was any other use for them, but every model 4 & 5's had them.Sorry can't shed any more light on it than that as I don't know any more on them.If I do find out I will let you all know.I will do some digging around,I'm sure there would be some other reason.

Yes I have done some more research and asked around.About the four holes.Everything just seems to point to,as I had said before just drain holes.

Oh, the drain holes, yes they are on all Model 4's and 5's. They are also under the axels front and back.

Yes they are. They don't seem to work the best once it gets grass in them and not cleaned out. They block up very quickly.
