Hi all, latley while using my masport 4 stroke now and then it runs a bit rough.after a service/checks and tests i have been getting a tiny amount of water in the fuel.i do leave my plastic jerry cans and mowers on the back of the truck 24/7 and with all the rain lately i am wondering if a bit of moisture has soaked in through the air vent holes in the fuel cap and the cap on the jerry can.i friend said to put a small amount of mineral turps in the jerry can to help the moisture blend in with the fuel, this does not seem to work.does any one have the same problem or a sollution...ken

Maybe a tarp over the fuel and mowers would be the best answer. Water builds up in the bottom of the fuel tank, and the float bowl if you have one, until it causes trouble. You need to keep the water off the mowers.

mower man,

We have had contractors that use the plastic fuel cans without the non spill spout and they end up getting water (when it is raining) in the fuel when driving around from job to job. cheers2

A handy thing to have in your kit is a big syringe.

Drop into a stock feed place and grab a big horse one without the needle. Scrounge up a bit of nylon hose about 6" long. That way if you ever need to you can suck the water out of the bottom of the tank.

Rubber in the syringe doesnt like petrol much but it does the trick.

I had an old mower today, got nearly a full 60cc syringe of water out from under the petrol.

Bob.
