Hi Guys. Have a Murray Ride-on with oil leaking from the rear axle seals. The date is 0634, model 38702X20B, type 12ic/38, s/no 2531. I need some info on how to replace the seals (plus maybe the bearings) & an exploded diagram with parts listing for same as well as the gasket for the split gearbox/diff assy. While it's apart, I would also like to replace the input shaft seal (& bearing). Common sizes/item nos. of bearings & seals would be helpful alongside the manufacturers no. together with the grade of oil required. Any help you may offer will be greatly appreciated. regards Kamel
The parts list for the murray model does not have a breakdown of the rear axle so we will need the model/series of the axle in order to give you the correct advice.
All we know is it is a peerless axle and as they have quite a few different series.
Regards,
Bruce

Thank you for the info. Can you tell me where on the axle the model/series no. may be located ? The axle is still in the machine, so I'll try to remove it over the next few days. Regards Kamel

Here is a page from the workshop manual that will help.

Hi all, Have located the tag on the RH side above the disc brake. It comprises 3 lines & reads as follows... 930012 PEERLESS 40473516. Your help is much appreciated Regards Kamel
Thank you. Followed directions as given. The directions ask me to use Pay-pal. I don't know what it is, nor do I wish to have anything to do with it. The directions also ask me to subscribe to something for a 12 month period. All I want is some help & information on how to repair an oil leak as per my first enquiry. Is this help & information freely available ?? Regards Kamel
Thanks for the help. I've managed to remove, dismantle & repair the transaxle by myself using common parts available from an engineering supply shop. Problem solved. Regards Kamel
