Found this snorkel air filter cover on a junked B&S mower which was three deep in the scrap bin of a dealership, was very difficult to get down to get it off but also managed to rescue the hose and top bit attached to the handle. Never seen one like this before and will be handy to use on one of my fleet when slashing dry dusty, anthill infested areas.
Quantum's fitted with a snorkel were usually on higher end Victa's and Masport's, and were very common on Rover's. It was also used on the OHV Intek engines.
I just wish Briggs still offered them as an option for commercial users. The only engine in recent times to have provision for a snorkel was the rebranded Vanguard DOV engine, which was fitted to Commercial Victa's for a while there.
I went to put the snorkel air filter attachment onto the Masport 635 and it didn't fit ! There were significant differences in the moulding which interfered with the throttle mechanism and the mounting screw hole was about an inch wrongly placed. Hopefully it will fit on one of my other B&S motors.....

You might need the corresponding backing plate, which is held onto the carburetor.
And on and on it goes, once you try mixing and matching you get to a point saying to yourself why did I think this was a good idea, they all look similar but so many subtle differences you would never imagine till you start trying to swap bits around
The masport 635 is the first of the Quantum motors which is 11ci and has the dipstick mounted in the centre at the rear of the engine. The AF covers you have pictures are for the 12ci quantum engines with the dipstick off to the LHS of the rear of the motor.
