Hi to All,
With a cylinder mower, the adjustment of the cylinder clearance to bottom blade is critical and tools are required to make the changes....(as well as checking all screws, nuts and bolts as vibration loosens them over time). That means a trip to the workshop to get the tools frown

I have just fitted a toolbox (ex Scotty Model 17) to the lower left hand handle so as to have all the necessary tools at hand when I need 'em. grin

The toolbox was in a very poor state and required some panel beating, rust removal etc. before painting in Galmet green hammertone, which is as close as you can get (at present)to the original Scotty paint colour.
Will post a pic soon.

Hi Craig, The pics are all there; you seem to be having a problem. Lets go through how we can fix it.

(1) Are you using Mozilla Firefox as your browser? Our site is best viewed using Firefox rather than Internet Explorer.
You can download Firefox using the button at the top of page above the toolbar.

(2)Here is a link to the Scotty 45 pics on Page 1 of this thread.
Click HERE Can you see them?

(3)The shield logo posted in post # 17875 is identical as the one used as the avatar in "Questions on Scott Bonnar Cylinder Mowers Only" on the main forum topic list.

(4)Open "Questions on Scott Bonnar Cylinder Mowers Only" on the main forum topic list, this will give you all the Scotty threads....scroll down to the very bottom of the page until you see the box "Display options".

Select "Show Topic"...from the drop down list select "From All Dates"
Select "Sort By".....Last Post Time and "Descending" from the list next to it and hit the "Change" button
This will give you all pages for a particular topic thread

Please let us know how it goes, Craig. wink

Hi Deejay,
1)Internet explorer.
2)I cannot use firefox at work though i will try at home. I still cannot see the pics using internet explorer.
3)I can see the sheild on the main forum page, thanks.
4)Have follwed your instructions here, works well thanks.

I have a couple of Qs unrelated to this topic and unsure if i should post here or not..

Re: Re-chroming the handle bars. I had a quote the other day, 120 - 180 which i thought was steep. I may have to prep them myself since they have quite a bit of surface rust and that is where the money lies - in the prep.

Can I buy a new set for less than this?

Also, one of the other members has a great looking front roller - Devoisi. It looks mint. Did he get it chrome plated or did he buy it like that?

Originality versus not for a resto? What are your thoughts?
The reason I ask is that if I can't get the bars re-chromed I will probably powdercoat them since it will be cheaper. If this ends up being this way I will loose the originality. So I was thinking of going retro. Silver hammertone bars and frame, black engine and reel with white and silver decals..

I prob would prefer to keep original though..??

Cheers, Craig.
