Thought I should re-post this here from another thread. I came across this Rover walk behind slasher on an online website and it has me baffled. It is not one that I am familiar with at all. It was found on a UK website. I can only guess they were released in the UK and not here? Bit of a mystery to me this one. Can anyone tell me anything about it, like model, year made etc.? It is like a re-modelled version of the popular Heavy Duty Australian one. The red paint could put it in Rover's "red" period, so probably 1980s/90s, but maybe as late as about 2013. Would the OHV be the original engine I wonder?

Here is a couple of answers my son found on google search

That’s a looks like a model 31 and the HP is around 13 to 15. If it’s a model 21 the it’s about 10.5.

Its a model 21 built feb 3rd of 2006.

Hi Vm and Norm,

This is a Rover Self Propelled Flail Mower the filing date for the patent in Australia was 4th November 1977.

The motor looks like a update to me.

I would have thought going by the front Rover Badge is was around the eighties.

Cheers
Max,

Thanks a million Norm and Max,

I learn something new every day. Interesting to see that the patent dates way back to the Eagle Farm days. This was not a Rover mower that I was aware of.

Found this PDF showing it for sale in the USA in July 1980. Looks like they called it the "Fairway Flail".
